A Christmas Lesson Learned At The Mall
I woke to face yet another Christmas all alone....
The day was dark and dreary...
The sky bleak and the air cool....
And had a gloomy feeling about it...
I showered, dressed, and went to the Mall...
No sense in feeling depressed at home....
I looked around, at the couples as they walked.
Holding hands with each other...
Some were young, but many old...
And I felt sad walking all alone...
My eyes went upward as I silently asked God...
Why was I left alone without someone to love.......
Still feeling sad I decided to leave......
The mall, the shoppers and couples holding hands.....
I stepped onto the escalator to the main floor,
And turned left so as to walk out the front door
I almost bumped into a very young woman..
Sitting in a wheelchair...crippled and bent.....
I slowly walked past her...towards the exit door...
and suddenly stopped for a moment to think......
This time i did not ask..... WHY GOD?...
Instead whispered to myself...THANK GOD...
As I got into my car I looked up at the sky
And noticed the sun peeking out behind the darkened clouds...
(a true story exactly as it happened}
